The four quickhack categories in Cyberpunk 2077
All 18 Cyberpunk 2077 quickhacks fall into four categories. Covert hacks are the quiet ones, Ping, Bait, Memory Wipe, Sonic Shock and Request Backup, and they are what a stealth netrunner opens with. Control hacks take something away from the target: Reboot Optics, Weapon Glitch, Cripple Movement, Cyberware Malfunction and Detonate Grenade.
Damage quickhacks are the four that kill outright over time, Overheat, Short Circuit, Contagion and Synapse Burnout, and they are the ones that scale with a netrunner build rather than with a weapon. Ultimate quickhacks are the heaviest and most expensive: Suicide, Cyberpsychosis, System Collapse and Blackwall Gateway.
Category is not just a label. Perks, cyberdecks and cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077 grant bonuses per category, so a build that leans on Covert hacks and one that leans on Damage hacks want different chrome even though the quickhack list is the same.
RAM cost, upload time and quickhack tiers
A quickhack in Cyberpunk 2077 is paid for with RAM, and RAM comes from the cyberdeck in the Operating System slot. Every quickhack here lists its RAM cost, upload time and duration at each tier, which is what decides whether a hack can realistically be queued in the middle of a fight or only used to open one.
Quickhacks scale from tier 1 to tier 5 and then to 5++, and the cost usually falls while the effect grows, so the same hack behaves very differently at the top of its ladder. Not every quickhack exists at every tier, and the lists here show only the tiers the game files actually define.
Building around this list means reading it next to the Intelligence perks, which raise max RAM, RAM recovery and queue size, and the cyberware page, where the cyberdeck that carries the whole netrunner build is chosen.
